A new space for discovery at Santa Elena Primary School!

We are delighted to share these moments of our students using our science room, a

space where they can explore, experiment, ask questions, and experience the

excitement of learning through discovery.

Behind this room is the thoughtfulness and generosity of one person: Sara Shah, its

founder and sole donor.

When Sara first visited Santa Elena Primary School with Girl Scouts in 2022, she could

not have known what that visit would eventually mean to our school. Later, she asked

about our science resources and learned that our students did not have a science lab.

Having grown up enjoying hands on experiments herself, she wanted our children to

have those same opportunities.

Sara turned that wish into action. Through her funding, vision, and dedication, she made

it possible to transform a classroom into a science room. She also helped create

activities where students could explore ideas, try things for themselves, and ask

questions about the world around them.

Today, we are sharing a glimpse of that vision coming to life.

There is something special about watching children work through an experiment

together. They lean closer, share ideas, notice something unexpected, and want to

know why. In those moments, science becomes something they can take part in. Their

questions matter. Their ideas have a place.

Sara, thank you for caring enough to ask what our school needed and for committing

your time, resources, and heart to making this room possible. Thank you for

remembering the joy science brought you and choosing to share that opportunity with

our children.

We hope you look closely at these photographs and see what your generosity means

here at Santa Elena Primary School. The room you imagined is now a room our children

can use. The opportunities you hoped to give them are becoming part of their school

experience.

On behalf of our students, staff, and school community, thank you. We will continue to

nurture what you have helped begin by encouraging our children to be curious, to try,

and to keep asking questions.

Years from now, a child may remember this room as the place where a love for science

began. Sara Shah, you have given our children the chance to have that memory.
