Planting Seeds of Service and Respect

Our standard 1 students recently completed a meaningful unit focused on Service Day and learning about the Father of the Nation, the Right Honourable George Price. Throughout the unit, students explored the importance of helping their community, giving back, and showing respect for the environment and the people around them.

As the culmination of their learning, students took part in a hands on gardening activity where they planted a variety of plants in the school garden. They discussed simple ways they can care for their plants, including watering regularly, protecting them from damage, and showing patience as they grow.

This activity helped students understand that even small actions can make a difference. By planting and caring for their own plants, they learned that serving the community starts with responsibility, respect, and care. It was a joyful and meaningful way to bring their learning to life and reinforce the values taught throughout the unit.
